Mediahuis: Active Ants exceeds our expectations

Publisher Mediahuis has been a customer of bpost for many years for the shipment of its newspapers, but also of the products sold through their webshop. Given the growth of the latter activity, bpost advised them to switch to the more automated e-fullfiment partner within the bpost group, Active Ants, when they started up operations in Belgium (Willebroek) at the beginning of the summer.

"Since the start of our web shop, we have been working with bpost for the warehousing and shipping of the products sold through our web shop. The last few months, we were running into the limits of the capacity that bpost can offer, so we were definitely interested in a new solution. With Active Ants, we not only find a supplier who offers more space, but also a partner who can grow with us, who is much more modern in terms of set-up and follow-up."

We now have a perfect view of stock, storage capacity and shipments. This is a great added value for all the teams involved in our e-commerce activity and allows us to be much more reactive."

Both Aline and Koen agree that the personalization of packages and the sustainable way of working are factors that were not yet an explicit requirement, but would undoubtedly become so in the future. "The attention that Active Ants pays to adapting the size of the package to the specific product (and therefore transporting as little air as possible), working with recycled cardboard, and charging the robots with electricity generated by solar panels, are bonus points in our cooperation. On that front, Active Ants offers us more than we had hoped for."
